It's the season for nurturing that warm feeling fuzzy inside but if you like your fuzz a little harder and slight more jangley, new single 'Brain Song' from Gum Country might be up your street. The new project of Courtney Loove, the guitarist in Vancouver-based psych band The Courtneys, it's every bit as hypnotic as the name suggests. He cleverly weaves together lo-fi post punk vibes that are as catchy as they are encapsulating. It's concise but it really burrows into your ears given half the chance. Remember lo-fi is hardly ever low-brow and Loove is full of thought with 'Brain Song'. - SJ
